After still being too sleepy this week to make anything other than eggs almost every night for dinner {one of our favorite dinners actually!}, it felt so good to be immediately inspired by these bright orange acorn squash and to create a new recipe. Baby John Shea’s Nursery
Our favorite room in our home! A lot of John's nursery is the product of DIY projects {post on the wall map here!} and yard sale finds. The crib, rocking chair and dresser/changing table we had originally wanted couldn't be shipped to our military address, so we ended up refurbishing our own. The chair was pretty ugly {and not a rocking chair} when we bought it, but we got it for a good deal, so we stripped it, stained it in oak and Cam built rockers and rounded out all the edges of the wood. ... continue reading...

I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
{October quote from Anne of Green Gables} September came and went soo fast! No, we don't have Fall out here in the subtropics, but October & November are our favorite months as the heat subsides. Once my body heals, I'm excited to take our babe for early morning runs and walks in his stroller when the weather is cool. September over means our John Shea is already over three weeks old!
