The views from Sveti Jakov Beach. The beach itself is stunning, in a quiet area down a staircase from Sveti Jakov Church, but part of the beauty of this beach is the walk getting there. Dubrovnik's coastline is steep and carves in and out of the clear greens and blues of the Adriatic. Sunrise in Dubrovnik
We didn't get into Dubrovnik until around midnight, but even in the dark it took our breath away. The kids were wide awake four hours later, so we all watched the sunrise, listened as the bells rang from the Franciscan Church, made breakfast and a whole lot of coffee. We are leaving for Dubrovnik today!! But not before sharing these delicious individual tiramisu and stone fruit pot de creme. Motovun, Croatia
Dobar dan from the beautiful hilltop town of Motovun! I am in love with this part of Istria, the region of Croatia that borders Italy. Croatians here are friendly, warm and deeply connected to the land. I think that's part of what makes the atmosphere so lovely and down to earth. Time seems to move a bit slower here.
