I am so excited about how much has changed here over the past weeks! Our kitchen garden is taking shape and though we have a ton of work left, it's become such a peaceful spot that we all love to be in. Not too long ago, this is what it looked like... where the boys are is about dead center of where the garden is now. This entire area was a pine tree forest and had been a dumping ground. A Redemption Story at Our Farmhouse
We've wanted to have baby chicks for our kids at Easter for years, and this weekend, it finally happened, yay! One of our hens was beat up by the rest of the flock to the point that I couldn't even look... She was quite literally almost pecked to death but Cam thankfully found her in time and separated her so she could heal. Happy Easter Week!
Happy Easter Week! This is my favorite time of the whole year, and my absolute favorite time in Croatia. Our whole family is homesick for it! Easter is the most sacred celebration of the year and it's felt in everything, especially in Zagreb. It's deeply part of the culture. 5 Reasons We Love Having Chickens
1. They are our home's built-in recycle center and in return provide us with fresh eggs every day! Every time Georgia eats, half of her meal ends up thrown across the floor. That plus table scraps, food that's gone bad, stale bread, etc. instead of getting wasted in the garbage becomes their special treat. They even love eating bacon grease! 2. They're so peaceful!
