When John Shea starts really talking, I’ll probably change this to funny things he says, but for now, he has us cracking up and our hearts melting daily by the things he does. There’s so many we can’t even keep track, but here’s a few to put a smile on your face…
Gracie wakes up crying every night but this time when Cam went in to grab her, John Shea had beat him there. He was sitting in the rocking chair under a blanket next to her bassinet, gently rubbing her little head !
For the past few weeks after putting him to bed, we hear him CRACKING UP in his room down the hall. He’s recently realized he can take off his jammies and diaper all by himself and thinks it is absolutely hysterical to be in bed nakie. After many many loads of laundry, we’ve finally got him back to keeping his pj’s on, but we still hear him talking to his stuffed animals and maybe some imaginary friends, cracking up hysterically almost every night. We have no idea what he’s laughing about? but his imagination is a glorious thing to watch (and listen to, ha!)
In the morning he usually heads downstairs to his toys while I’m still finishing getting Grace fed and changed, and when I come down, there in a perfectly neat line on the counter is the milk, his sippy cup, lid, container of oatmeal, a bowl and his spoon. Occasionally I catch him climbing on the stool to the counter and putting the bag of chocolate chips next to his lineup too. Totally cracks me up.
He likes to bring us our things.. Throughout the day, if he sees anything of ours he runs it straight over to us, so proud of himself. Today he ran to Dadda with a bottle of wine and the corkscrew.
I put Gracie to sleep in her rocking chair and John Shea likes to climb up and snuggle next to us. When he starts giggling, I quietly tell him that his sissy is trying to fall asleep and without fail every time he puts his head on my shoulder and snores outloud with his eyes closed. Then looks up at me cracking up.
These little people are the best. Two years with John Shea and 7 months yesterday with Gracie, and we still can’t believe they’re ours!

Your family is so precious! I love toddlers, their personality has developed so much and I think they are hilarious. Oh I meant to say this on your post like a month ago, when you posted about your rosemary focaccia bread, but that was the very first yeast bread I made and now I'm totally obsessed with homemade breads! I still make your delicious rosemary bread on a regular basis and sometimes mix it up with sun dried tomatoes or whatever I have on hand. So thank you so much for giving me the courage to try yeast bread!
Amanda Marshall says
Thank you, Lisa! I am so happy to read this and know you love it! Hooray. I love your idea of adding in sun dried tomatoes, I'll have to try it that way next time. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
